- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trouble in the Congo. DESCRIPTION: Leopoldville, the capital of the Belgian Congo: after the riots, the situation is quiet, though tense, and life is getting back to normal. The rioters had broken into schools and ransacked them, looting and destroying. Shops were an even more obvious target for the looters, and a lot of damage was done right in the centre of the capital. While Belgian reinforcements were on their way, the local gendarmerie coped efficiently with the situation. SHOTLIST: Troops on guard (key). MS tanks pass camera. MS watchtower - pan to soldier on tank. MS troops in jeep. LS locals carrying baskets on head. Same. Shot of damaged school. GV wreckage strewn on ground. MS doorway with papers etc. strewn over ground. GV wrecked shop. Interior of wrecked buildings. MS people pass wrecked truck. MS troops & questionnaire. MS troops make owner search car.
