- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Vanguard’s First Flight. DESCRIPTION: These pictures show the Vickers Vanguard, one of the most outstanding machines ever to enter the civil airline field. Twenty are on order for BEA and 20 for a Canadian Air Line. Vanguard operators should be able to cut passengers fares by half, thus bringing air travel within the range of millions of small purses.
