- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Campbell’s New Record. DESCRIPTION: With a helping hand from his wife, Donald Campbell prepared to have a crack at his own World water-speed record on Coniston Water. It was a magnificent run: 275 miles an hour! Then, back again: 245 point five, this time, to give an average of just over 260, beating the mark he set last November by twelve miles an hour. SHOTLIST: MS ‘Bluebird’ (key & title). MS Campbell with his wife puts on helmet. BS Campbell climbs into ‘Bluebird’. MS ‘Bluebird’ leaves jetty. Same - pan at speed. Pan - Bluebird’s first run (at 275 mph). Slip pan. Pan Bluebird’s return run (at 245 mph). Closer ‘Bluebird’ slows down. MS Campbell climbs out and is greeted by wife.
