- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Gliding Champs. DESCRIPTION: The National Gliding Championships took place at Lasham Aerodrome in Hampshire. Commander Goodhart, RN, seen here talking with two of the Beverley Sisters, later took off in a new French glider with a Butterfly tail, and then, in a Skylark, set a new British distance record: 385 miles to Scotland. David Ince - here doing heart-in-the-mouth aerobatics in an Olympia, finished up in Country Durham. SHOTLIST: MS glider (key). MS glider wing being carried. Closer - same being fixed to machine.
