- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aquatic Antics. DESCRIPTION: Oxford went to Cambridge - onto the Cam for the Inter-Varsity punt relay race. Entry was open to anyone who has entered the river unwillingly while fully clothed. Cambridge won the event this year, which is part of May Week celebrations, when everything’s crazy! (May Week takes place in June!) . Keeping afloat isn’t at all difficult with this new type of life-jacket. It doesn’t call for any action by the wearer and an unconscious person would be just as safe. It is ideal for children and non-swimmers. The idea marks the way to a great advance in safety. From a new life-saving device to the old Spritty barges, and there are still enough of them to have their annual race. They raced out to the Estuary and back again, finishing at Gravesend. And here is Sirdar, sailing home, this year’s winner of the Champion Bowsprit Barges. SHOTLIST: MS students and punts (key). LS bridge with punts. MS students in punt. Another same.
