- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Ascot. DESCRIPTION: Her Majesty, with members of her family, was there, two days before leaving for Canada. So there was no royal house party and no royal drive down the course. The Queen had a word with Harry Carr, the jockey who was riding her horse Agreement. But the Ascot Stakes were son by Rugosa and there was no royal win this time. In the last race of the day, the St James’s Palace Stakes, Her Majesty enjoyed all the thrills of victory, when her Derby runner Above Suspicion was first past the post. SHOTLIST: Stock card (key). St James’ Palace Stakes - won by Her Majesty’s horse ‘Above Suspicion’. NB - During this race the Queen gets very excited, jumping up & down and waving arms!
