Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Motor Racing. DESCRIPTION: A Le Mans-type start to the Tourist Trophy race at Goodwood, and a six hour contest between some of the world’s leading aces. Plenty of incidents happened: Gregory crashed, and Peter Whitehead’s private Aston Martin caught fire, and he retired. Moss’ co-driver Salvadori brought their Aston Martin in to refuel - then up went car - and pits, in a burst of flames. Moss lent a hand to help put the fire out, then he took over the Fairman-Shelby Aston Martin and drove it to victory. And that’s how Aston Martin became the first British holders of the Sports Car Title. SHOTLIST: MS car racing (key). LS drivers run to cars. CU drivers get into cars. LS cars drive off. MS cars racing. MS same (4). MS number 6 in ditch. MS number 4 on fire. MS number 1 racing. CU same drives into pits. CU pits on fire. MS same (2). CU same. MS same. CU wrecked car. LS pits on fire.
