Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Hobart Race. DESCRIPTION: Our pictures show Sydney’s magnificent harbour, and the start of the famous yacht race to Hobart, Tasmania. It’s one of the big sporting events, contested every year during the Australian Summer season. This year, there were no fewer than thirty yachts competing. Some are veterans, like the Winston Churchill (racing to Hobart for the eighth time) and Kurrewa IV, now nearly fifty years old. Some of the entrants are large and some are small, but that makes little difference, as it’s a handicap event. SHOTLIST: LS boats in Sydney Harbour. LS same. LS boats at sea. LS same. MS boat.
