Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cuban Ship Blast. DESCRIPTION: The French freighter La Coubre blew up in Havana while unloading munitions. There was heavy loss of life, and, when more explosions followed, the fire spread to warehouses along the dock. Dr Castro, the Cuban Prime Minister, added fuel to the political flames by saying that sabotage caused the disaster. SHOTLIST: GV freighter ‘La Coubre’. GV explosions. GV warehouses ablaze.
