Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: News From Japan. DESCRIPTION: Princess Suga, daughter of Emperor Hirohito, is to follow the example of her brother the Crown Prince. She’s to wed a commoner, too: Mr Shimazu, a bank clerk. In Tokyo’s Imperial Palace, tradition is being maintained. Plucking a bowstring is part of the ancient ritual of naming a royal baby.
