Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Firemen on Parade. DESCRIPTION: The London Fire Brigade, on parade at their Headquarters, was reviewed and inspected by Prince Philip. A Hook Ladder demonstration was smartly carried out by a crew from A4 (Euston) Fire Station. Crews from C (South-East London) Division performed a rescue operation with fire escapes. In the course of the display, most aspects of a fireman’s work were shown. Last year, London’s firemen dealt with 28,000 calls, and fires during the past 12 months increased by over 50 per cent.
