- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King George V Cup. White City Horse Show. DESCRIPTION: The Royal International Horse Show at the White City, and strong competition for a premier trophy, the King George V Cup. George Morris on Night Owl, an American entry, came sixth. Britain’s Alan Oliver and the 18-year-old Red Admiral were out of luck. Colonel Delia of the Argentine on Huipil. And the rider who beat them all: Britain’s David Broome on Sunsalve who brought off the only clear round in the jump off. So he’s got the Trophy back from the Americans who’ve won it for the last two years. Sunsalve is the only horse to win both the King George V and Queen Elizabeth Cups. Now, our pictures show a dog race in Germany. Afghan hounds looking on rather enviously as greyhounds get into their stride. Slow motion reveals the grace behind the pace. Then, the Afghan hounds have a go. SHOTLIST: George Morris jumping on Night Owl. Alan Oliver on Red Admiral - horse refuses. Colonel Delia on Huipil. CU. Trophy to be won. David Broome on Sunsalve.
