- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Olympic Games. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s girls are doing well. In the 80-metres hurdles Miss Press of Russian won with Britain’s Carole Quinton hot on her heels for second place. The men’s 100-metres: Sime, Budd, Norton, Fignerola, Radford and Hary. Hary (Germany) won, second Sime (America) and Radford third. In the 400 metres free-style final Rose (Australia) won, Yamanaka (Japan) second and Konrads (Australia) third. The 100 metre backstroke, Miss Burke (America) won but was hotly pursued by Natalie Steward of Great Britain in second place. SHOTLIST: Key scene. LS 80 metres hurdles begins.
