- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Balloon Attempts to Cross Channel. DESCRIPTION: At an airfield in Kent, three men including a British journalist plan to cross the channel in a balloon to commemorate the first balloon crossing, 175 years ago. They make it and arrive in Belgium some four hours later. SHOTLIST: Shots of balloon being blown up. Shots of navigator Eckert discussing route with non flying engineer of balloon. Eckert in woolly hat gets in. Pilot Jensen in glasses.
