Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Tops of Ice. DESCRIPTION: Gliding in attractive harmony over the ice-rink at Streatham, were Peter Burrows and Valerie Hunt, whose polished performance won them the Amateur Pair Skating Championship of Great Britain. Miss Carolyn Krau came third in the free skating section of the Ladies’ Championship. Second place was won by Anne Reynolds of Nottingham. Though she gave a really splendid performance, Miss Reynolds couldn’t overtake the lead in compulsory figures obtained by Diana Clifton-Peach. Diana’s free skating was also a joy to watch, though she was only placed third in this section. With her lead in the figures, she skated to victory in the final placing. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
