DESCRIPTION: The Square of Heavenly Peace in Peking presented an incredible sight as the leaders of Communist China Mao Tse-Tung and Chou En-Lai, assembled for the Anniversary Parade. King Mahendra of Nepal was among the visitors and the Dowager Queen Elizabeth of the Belgians. They witnessed a fantastic spectacle as half a million Chinese paraded through the Square. It’s now twelve years since Mao Tse-Tung, as Chairman of the Central Peoples Government proclaimed the Peoples Republic. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV Peking Square.
