- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Got a Strad, Dad?. DESCRIPTION: Herman Idle of Narberth, Pembrokeshire, left a collection of violins of which four were found bearing the name Stradivarius. That certainly was news, and connoisseurs flocked in their hundreds to the auction. The violins could be worth a small fortune! But doubts had already been cast upon the authenticity of the Strad label, and Mr Idle’s family sought legal advice. So, at the last minute, withdrew those bearing the famous signature. But caught by the excitement, other people had brought violins to the sale, and sold them with the rest of Herman’s collection. SHOTLIST: Key scene. (3 shots) village.
