- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: By the Way. DESCRIPTION: This establishment near Workington is a fish and chip shop. It may not look like it, but the fact is that its enterprising proprietor, Mr Fleet, has obtained an off-license, the first place of the kind in Britain to have one. Fish and chips make you thirsty, so why not a bottle of something to help wash them down!. The man drawing the crowds in Nicosia, Cyprus, is Yuri Gagarin, spaceman number one, no less! Having had a good look at the earth from space, he’s now having a good time, orbiting all over its surface. Cashing in on the new gaming laws in Britain, this house in Broadstairs is part of a new company venture. Mr Leslie Gillett, the chairman, is training a number of girls in the art of working as croupiers. He calls the game Legalite, a legal form of roulette. SHOTLIST: Key scene. MS shop. MCU shop window.
