Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sheffield - a Stricken City. DESCRIPTION: Parts of Sheffield look as if they’d been blitzed. Indeed, the city was blitzed - by one of the most violent storms ever to whip through a town in Britain. Damage to property is very considerable, something like two thirds of the city’s houses have been affected. Re-housing and re-furnishing is the task ahead, and an emergency like this demands Government financial aid. Early estimates of the damage done put the sum at over two million pounds. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV pan city (2 shots) damaged house. MS pan house. MS damaged house. MS sign. MS ditto. (4 shots) damaged houses. CU sign. (7 shots) damaged houses.
