Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cooper Retains Titles. DESCRIPTION: Old friends met again for the eighth time: Henry Cooper defending his British and Empire heavyweight titles against Joe Erskine. The contest was presented by Reg King at Nottingham. It was in round five that the champion began to do the damage, and a cut above Joe’s eye opened, the blood beginning to flow. But, after expert attention to the eye, they were at it again. Round nine was as far as the argument went, for more damage to that eye was being done. The referee gave Cooper the victory by stopping the fight. So, Henry is still the champ. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Ring - fight in progress. 2 shots. Girl in audience. Fight - 4 shots. Girl in audience.
