- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ferraris V Jags. DESCRIPTION: 55 cars went away at Le Mans, with 24 hours to go. By the time darkness fell, 13 cars had fallen by the wayside, leaving the Ferraris to battle it out amongst themselves. At this stage, they filled the first 7 positions. But as one by one, the Ferraris dropped back, so two privately-entered E-Type Jaguars began to move up. But there was no displacing the first 3 Ferraris, and number 6, driven by Hill and Gendebien won this marathon, covering 2,675 miles at an average of over 115 miles an hour. SHOTLIST: GV start of race. Race in progress. MS car pulls into pit. Race. MS car pulls out of pit. Race. MS end of race. GV crowd. MCU winner and second. Hill and Gendebien won in a Ferrari.
