Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: London’s Tallest. DESCRIPTION: A new GPO telephone-television tower is going up alongside the old one (which it will eventually replace), just off Tottenham Court Road, in London’s West End. It’s being built because of the increasing interference with wave lengths caused by London’s ever-growing skyline. It is only 200 ft at the moment, but will eventually be 260. Without doubt the tallest beanstalk in London, it will include an observation platform, and a revolving glass-walled restaurant. SHOTLIST: Key scene - old and new towers, old tower. LS new tower. MS men look up. GV new tower (3 angles). GV work in progress (7 shots). LS views from top (2 shots). MS complete model. MS complete model and pan up tower. CU top of model and glass restaurant.
