Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Discovery By Chance. DESCRIPTION: A large electrical industries group in London, trying to develop a cheap luminous panel for motor cars, discovered instead an electronic photographic plate, sensitive to light and invisible radiation, which could revolutionise the whole technique of taking X-Ray pictures. After the exposure the picture becomes instantly visible without any form of chemical development. Made of steel the result is durable enough to be re-used ten thousand times. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV laboratory. MCU key is placed on plate. CU plate. MCU battery connected to plate. CU bulb is fitted and flashed over the plate (2 shots). GV laboratory, spraying plate (2 shots). MS plate placed in furnace for baking (2 shots). CU temperature gauge, plate removed from furnace, hand switches on light. CU plate with image of key on it. (This is a new type of X-Ray plate).
