Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Cross of Wood. DESCRIPTION: For 24 years, ever since that terrible night in 1940 when Coventry Cathedral was destroyed by firebombs, a cross fashioned out of two charred beams, and tied together by wire, has stood behind an altar of stones from the ruins. Now, it has been taken down and sent to the World’s Fair in New York. While it remains there, its place will be taken by an exact replica made by craftsmen in Stratford-upon-Avon.
