DESCRIPTION: They’ve finished building the new Excelsior luxury hotel at Glasgow Airport, and Under-Secretary of State for Scotland George Younger performs the topping out ceremony. SHOTLIST: SV pan to hotel. CU Scottish piper. LV Scottish Under Secretary of State George Younger pushes button to bring up cement. CU piper, workmen, photographers etc., LV cement on arm of crane. GV officials lined up watching. SV container lowered and cement poured into square hole. SCU workmen look on. SV Mr Younger smooths over cement. CU Mr Younger hammers ‘good luck’ into position. SV officials drink ceremonial pint of beer. GV pan interior hotel room - woman enters and answers phone. GV exterior hotel with cranes etc. New airport hotel.
