- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Car Safety Belt. DESCRIPTION: It seems drivers won’t help themselves to keep death off the road. Apparently only one driver or front seat passenger in five can be bothered to use conventional (and compulsory) seat belts. This new design gives them no option about protecting their own interests. SHOTLIST: LV man walking to car. CU as door is opened & man gets in and attaches belt which hinges on door. CU take up reel of safety belt. SBV driver with safety belt on car travelling. CU safety belt attached to door, FV car stops. SV driver opens door & slips out of harness. SV driver & passenger walk round car driver opens door for passenger. CU passenger slips in under safety belt. CU pan down showing safety belt attached to top & bottom of door. CU passenger with belt on. SV driver walks round car & gets in. SV pan car drives away with passenger & driver wearing safety belts.
