Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Naval Ships. DESCRIPTION: Ships may come and ships may go but the really old ones just keep floating. 20 year old HMS Eagle, the Royal Navy’s Aircraft Carrier is on the scrap heap. At the same time the 155 year old ‘Foudroyant’ along with Nelson’s flag ship, is being restored. The death-watch beetle being given the ‘old heave ho!' The latest ship is HMS Antelope, a frigate. SHOTLIST: LS HMS Victory. CU sign Victory. MS HMS Victory with cannons on quayside pan up to Victory. AS scaffolding round mast of Victory pan down to scaffolding round ship. FV Victory. CU figurehead HMS Foudroyant. GV ditto in dry dock. MS pan along men repairing hull. MS guns and deck of Foudroyant. MS man cleaning bell by wheel. CU bell inscribed Foudroyant 1896.
