Summary
COI synopsis: Achieving a greater standard of accuracy in analysing objects in motion is a big problem for scientists. This week we look at various new solutions to the problem of pinpointing moving objects. Each year, crops are stunted and valuable land wasted by irregular seeding. Seeds dropped at high speed from a hopper do not stay in place on the ground; they continue rolling. Now a device modifying the hopper can ensure that the seeds plant themselves exactly where they land, without delaying the speed of the seeding process itself.
