- Summary
- COI synopsis: Achieving a greater standard of accuracy in analysing objects in motion is a big problem for scientists. This week we look at various new solutions to the problem of pinpointing moving objects. By reducing shapes to outline, silhouettes are a simple way of distinguishing differences between objects. A new machine linked to a computer can now use the comparison of silhouettes in the vital task of checking precision parts in engineering, while they move along the production line.
