- COI synopsis: From London, a report on the start of one of the most exciting sailing races ever staged - the round-the-world Clipper Race to Australia and back. Four modern yachts are attempting to beat the 106 year old record set up by the wool clipper Patriarch in 1869 of 69 days each way - and to beat each other in the process. Maron Foster watches the four boats in preparation, and talks to some of their crews in London’s spanking new yacht haven, St Catherine’s Dock. Then, with an armada of boats ranging from tall sailing ships to small launches, she follows the competitors down the Thames for the start of the race...
