- Summary
- COI synopsis: Joan and Julius Evans, an American couple touring in Britain, through meeting an aspiring actress from RADA (The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) in London, learn many things about the British theatre not always available for the average tourist. They see unforgettable performances including Sir John Gielgud in Hamlet at the Old Vic and Sena Jurinac in the Glyndebourne production of The Marriage of Figaro. Harold Hobson, drama critic of the London Sunday Times, enthusiastically describes the current theatre in London, and the Principal of RADA, John Fernald, explains how he continues his direction of West End productions while at the same time guiding young drama students into careers in the professional theatre.
