Summary
NoS Summary - Fun and games at an open air swimming pool.
British Pathe synopsis: Full title of story is "To continue the cooling atmosphere - Water babies Filmed at Chiswick, London." Introductory intertitle reads: "These babies are slightly overgrown - but cool." Panning shot of a group of men and women standing and sitting at the edge of the outdoor pool in Chiswick. One of the men acknowledges the cameraman by putting his hands up in front of his face as if framing the picture like the cameraman. M/S of woman sitting on the edge dangling one foot in the pool - she drinks a cup of tea. Another woman dipping her toes in has a parasol over her shoulder. M/S of young people lying on the grass in the sun. A girl does a handstand over another girl who crouches at her feet. Four people play a kind of hand tennis - with a net but no bats. L/S of large number of people sitting on the edge of the pool splashing with their feet. A group of girls frolic in the water. A woman holding a little baby in the pool poses for the camera. Someone off screen throws a ball to the baby. Mother catches it and throws it back. "Frolic and fun, featuring diverse divers in divers dives." Lots of people dive into the pool one by one. Then a large group of people dive and jump in at the same time - in slow motion. Shot from close behind the back of the diving board as someone dives in. Some other people cartwheel and dive in. We see some dives in slow motion. "This is the kind of job that makes a Cameraman’s work feel good in the hot weather." People dive and jump off a high board.
