Summary
NoS Summary - women harvesting asparagus possibly in Germany
British Pathe synopsis: C/U of a basket full of asparagus. M/S of a woman using a special tool to dig out asparagus - looks like it is growing underground. L/S of the field. Women work in the field harvesting the crop. M/S of a group of workers, one man and a teenage girl, the others are women. "Toothsome sticks for tender palates - out of their dugouts!" Various shots of the women digging down and cutting the asparagus. They then fill the earth back over the holes. C/U of a hole being dug. "This harvest has already adorned Berlin’s tables - but the harvest goes on -" L/S of the workers in the trenches. M/S of two women walking along carrying baskets full of asparagus. Various shots of the workers at their tasks.
