Summary

NoS Summary - Backstage at a puppet show version of Midsummer Night’s Dream.
British Pathe synopsis: Men and women prepare their puppets for the show. "One magic touch and Puck lives for a brief spell." reads an intertitle. C/U of a puppet all crumpled up. The strings are lifted and Puck comes to life. C/U from low angle of the woman operating the puppet. C/U of the puppet moving. "Titiana, Oberon, the Fairy King - all come to life under the deft hands behind the curtain." M/S of the show - performed in front of a curtain. Various shots of the puppets. Shots of the puppet operators moving the puppets around the stage. High angle showing the puppeteers having fun with the show. "Little people - yet fascinating artists", explained Miss Van Volkenburg, their creator - " M/S of the puppets’ creator. She sits beside the stage, the puppets begin to fly towards her as if by magic! She talks to and plays with the puppets. She shakes hands with them.
