Summary
NoS Summary - Slapstick entertainers "the Hughes family" perform their cycling routine
British Pathe synopsis: "Meet the Hughes family - give them a cycle and they’ll go for hours." L/S of two adults and a young boy cycling around a ring - probably in the Pathe Studio. They perform various stunts on their bicycles including cycling on one wheel. The boy rides a tiny bicycle. The woman rides her bike and bounces a balloon on a stick at the same time. She attempts to pass it to her husband but it goes a bit wrong. They try again and this time he gets it OK. He then bounces it. He bounces it at the young son who does a comedy fall - pretending to have been knocked over by it. Funny business ensues with the mother and father pretending to fight whilst still riding their bicycles. The woman pushes her husband over - one of the sons cushions his fall. "If you want to brighten up that party at home - just try this little game - (but see your Insurance Agent first)." As the woman bounces the ball on a stick as she is cycling along, the husband grabs her skirt - flashing off her knickers.
