Summary
NoS Summary - Cartoon artist Van Dock makes humorous sketches in lightning time.
British Pathe synopsis: Subtitle to the item is: "A little lesson in rapid caricatures by Van Dock the Lightening Cartoonist." Introductory intertitle reads: "The fastest boy in the world never grew as quickly as this one - on paper." M/S of man standing beside an easel with a large piece of paper attached to it. The artist wears a suit, a beret and a cravat. He makes a very quick drawing of a schoolboy. "His father was quicker still," said Van Dock." The artist draws a sad looking man with a moustache. The artist smiles at the camera - looking very pleased with himself. "Portrait of a lady" Van Dock draws a rather large lady wearing a hat. "A little game of Nap." Napoleon is draw in profile. "Sandy" appeared in twenty seconds." A bearded man wearing a Tam-o’-shanter is drawn. "But, love is a two-sided affair..." Van Dock then draws with two pieces of charcoal at the same time - one in each hand. He draws one of those double pictures - a candlestick which also looks like two people about to kiss. He fills in the details of the faces - a flapper and a soldier.
