- Summary
- BFI synopsis: A party of Derbyshire miners on holiday in Riccione, Italy.
NCB Song lyrics - I’ll tell you a tale of some Derbyshire miners
who travelled to It’ly in search of the sun.
They stopped on the seashore at blue Riccione,
and hired an Hotel to put up ev’ryone.
But when it came to eating,
precautions they had taken.
They’d brought their own food with them.
They must have English bacon.
Hark! the going is sounding!
The crowd at once grows thinner.
It’s nice to come to It’ly,
for good old English dinner.
By evening our miners at last were unbuttoned;
they’d had all the sun they could possibly wish;
and so they decided to risk their digestions
on trying to eat an Italian dish.
So they asked for pizza!
(It’s just been tossed on high!)
They ate the pizza. It’s a -
Italian kind of pie!
What’s more, they didn’t die! - - Keywords
