- Summary
- BFI synopsis: Takes a look at angling - both coarse and fly fishing - and also at some of the problems facing fish in rivers from modern features such as hydro-electric dams and pollution. It opens with a small scene at Loch Ness and goes on to look at coarse fishing, with an annual match between the Harrow Waltonians and Hereford Anglers, and also mentioning the popularity of angling with women. Fly fishing is also looked at, with scenes of salmon fishermen, and the methods deployed by the Hydro-Electric industry to ensure salmon and trout can move up river as normal and not be affected by their schemes. Rods, flies and hooks are also shown being made, and the problems caused by pollution in rivers is viewed. The film ends back at Loch Ness.
