- BFI synopsis: A film about various stately homes in Britain, commencing with Woburn Abbey, where the State rooms, Ascot Gold Cup and other valuable objects are seen, as well as the grounds and outbuildings. At the home of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, on the edge of the New Forest, the house and large collection of vintage cars are looked at. Chatsworth House, Derbyshire is also shown, as are the house and particularly the gardens of Luton Hoo, north of London, owned by Sir Harold and Lady Zia Wernher. The film concludes with a look at Blithfield Hall, Staffordshire, and Alton Towers, which have newer attractions to bring in the visitors.
