- Summary
- BFI synopsis: An item covering various aspects of the Brussels International Exhibition. It commences with general views of the grounds and then looks at the UK government pavilion and shows the exterior of the British Industry pavilion. There is a shot of the Babcock & Wilcox stand, featuring steam engineering and nuclear power, and including a painting of the construction of Hinkley Point atomic power station. The artist Claude Buckle is shown at work on the canvas in his studio, and Anna Zynkeisen(?) at work on a different painting. The painting is then seen in situ on the Babcock & Wilcox stand at the Brussels Exhibition, with more shots of the stand, including a cutaway model of the Hinkley Point atomic reactor. The film ends with more general views of the exhibition pavilion and grounds, and shots of the "Atomium" symbolising the exhibition’s theme.
