Summary
NoS synopsis: Animated cartoon ridiculing Turkey, March 1915. The cartoon figure of an artist draws a globe, from which a Turk has been kicked, heading into space towards the sun and the stars, asking himself "Is this what William meant by a place in the sun?" IWM catalogue record summary notes "Presumably a reaction to Turkey’s entry into the war, though a specific reference to the first British naval attacks on Gallipoli in March 1915 may be intended".
Researcher Comments
Cartoonist George Studdy, best known for his creation of Bonzo the dog.
