- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ataturk Lying in State. SHOTLIST: In Istanbul, in the Palace of Dolmabahse, the body of Kemal Ataturk, the first premier of Turkey, lies in State. Outside the army, University and Boy Scout organisations file past in mute tribute. Kemal Ataturk’s Funeral - CARD 34925 Large crowds line the streets as the flag-draped coffin bearing the remains of Kemal Ataturk is borne through the streets. The cortege moves over the bridge across the Golden Horn. Ataturk’s Funeral. Ankara - CARD 34949 Followed by troops from all over the world the body of Kemal Ataturk is carried through the streets to its last resting place. With the coffin walk the dead dictator’s sister and brother-in-law and Ismet Inonu, his successor. The troops file past his tomb in which Ataturk is to lie in state.
