Summary
Thousands of acres of Ceylon’s bush country are being cleared to make away for aerodromes, with the elephant doing his share along with the bulldozers. But Ceylon’s other industries of tea and rubber are still increasing. Tea pickers are seen at work in the fields and tea baskets are brought in, weighted up and paid for. Rubber trees are tapped and sap cups are collected, and rubber is seen being processed. Bud grafting is also another way of increasing the rubber yield and this is done by grafting a bud of good high quality yielding tree onto younger rubber tree.
