Theatre of Blood
- Synopsis
- Feature film. Spoof horror picture in which a ham Shakespearean actor, Edward Lionheart, takes revenge on eight critics who have ridiculed his performances. He engineers a series of elaborate murders. Making the punishment fit the crime, each murder is to be in the manner of a death from one of Shakespeare’s plays in Lionheart’s repertory season. Lionheart acknowledges debts to Cymbeline, Henry IV, Part I, Julius Caesar, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, Titus Andronicus and Troilus and Cressida.
