- Synopsis
- Television arts documentary. Absorbing account of Peter Hall’s final productions as director of the National Theatre, Cymbeline, The Winter’s Tale and The Tempest, using the same group of actors and showing rehearsals from first read-through to the final dress. From The Tempest, rehearsal for II ii and III ii, plus the epilogue are shown in some detail, with comments from actors and directors. From Cymbeline I vii, II ii, II iv and from The Winter’s Tale I ii, III ii, V v. There are also brief extracts from Hall’s 1973 production of The Tempest derived from material taken from the 1976 programme YOUR NATIONAL THEATRE.
