Synopsis
Television comedy series. This episode includes a sketch, written by aspiring playwright, Ernie Wise for Glenda Jackson, the guest star. Shows an encounter between Cleopatra, Caesar and Antony with a dubious debt to Shakespeare. An amorous liaison between Mark Antony and Cleopatra is interrupted by a Roman guard, who turns out to be Octavius Caesar, ‘ruler of the world and certain parts of Birkenhead’ (Glenda Jackson was born in Birkenhead), Cleopatra’s maid is referred to throughout as Desdemona.
