Shakespearean Baseball Game, The

Synopsis
The Canadian comedy duo Frank Wayne and Johnny Shuster parody a number of Shakespeare plays including Hamlet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar and Richard III in the form of a baseball game. First performed on television in 1958, the beginning of the sketch states ‘Bosworth Field - A Baseball Stadium near Stratford’ [Ontario]. The dialogue is written and performed in a version of blank verse.

Rusty: Where is the captain of our team
The mighty Rocky? The man whom
all the sports reporters call the noblest catcher of them all’.

while Macduff scores ` a hit...a very palpable hit’.
