Deed of Gift: Dr Faustus. Part 1

Synopsis
Television schools series in eight parts, examining the conflict between good and evil in medieval and Elizabethan drama. Episode 2 considers Christopher Marlowe’s version of the Dr Faustus legend, the man who sold his soul to the devil. The play retains many of the formalities of the morality plays, such as the Good and Evil Angel and the Seven Deadly Sins, but the main characters Faustus and Mephistopholes are real personalities, not just representative figures.
