Notes
- Notes
- Over 400 young people between fifteen and twenty-one were involved in the production.
- General
- Because of its reference to contemporary culture (jazz score, teddy boy dress, knives and police beatings) the production was nicknamed the "Teddy boy Caesar" (Radio Times, 16 April 1954, p.51).
- History
- The stage play was initially performed at the Queen’s Theatre, London, in 1960. It was broadcast on Shakespeare’s 400th birthday. This is the first time a National Youth Theatre production had been presented on television.
