Director Jonathan Miller first directed the play with actors Michael Hordern and Frank Middlemass in 1969 at Nottingham Playhouse, Nottingham; he subsequently directed the same pair for the BBC TV Shakespeare production of the play in 1982.
History
This is part of a series of eight Shakespeareare plays produced for BBC by Cedric Messina, who was to launch the production of the BBC TV Shakespeare series three years later.
